Oh why is it so complicated to explain?

Jack's basically a poor boy who won his ticket on Titanic playing poker. He meets a woman named Rose, they fall in love, the ship starts to sink, they stay together throughout it all, they endure the frozen water together, and he eventually freezes to death...or something like that.
